Call for eco-fashion designers: Showcase your work at Szeged’s Night of Museums
Szeged, Hungary — In a creative effort to tackle fashion industry waste and promote sustainability, the Móra Ferenc Museum in Szeged is inviting members of the public to submit recycled fashion designs for a special showcase during this year’s Night of Museums.
The initiative, set to take place on June 21, 2025, aims to highlight the environmental impact of fast fashion and encourage more conscious consumer habits through upcycling: transforming discarded garments into stylish, wearable pieces.
Participants are encouraged to revamp existing clothing, creatively refurbish their own garments, or even construct outfits entirely from waste materials. The key requirement is that all submitted pieces must be wearable.
A professional jury will review the entries and select the top 15 designs to be presented during an Eco Fashion Show, a featured event at the Night of Museums in Szeged.
The opportunity is open to all—regardless of age or professional background. Amateur and emerging designers are especially encouraged to participate. Each contributor may submit up to five original outfits, each accompanied by high-quality front and back photos.
After registering, participants will receive individual instructions for submitting their designs. Photo files must be labeled using the following format: ApplicantName–OutfitNumber–front/back (e.g., AnnaSmith01_back; AnnaSmith01_front). Accepted formats are JPEG or TIFF, with image sizes between 3 MB and 10 MB.
The deadline to apply is Wednesday, April 30 at 11:59 PM. Designers can register via this form.
