New photo exhibition open at Móra Ferenc Museum

Szeged, Hungary – A new photography exhibition, Szeged Press, opened today at the Móra Ferenc Museum. The exhibition showcases a selection of 70 images chosen from approximately 350 photographs submitted to the museum’s autumn photography competition.

In autumn 2024, the Móra Ferenc Museum launched the first Szeged Press contest, inviting photographers to submit images depicting local events in Szeged and Csongrád-Csanád County. A three-member professional jury evaluated the entries and curated the final selection for the exhibition. Despite its title, the contest was not strictly limited to press photography – anyone who captured documentary-style images was encouraged to participate.

The exhibition, created to establish a new tradition, features a diverse range of images taken by local photographers. These images capture defining moments of local life, culture, sports, and more.

The Szeged Press exhibition, located on the museum's ground floor, will be open to the public until April 27, 2025. Admission to the exhibition is included with the museum’s general entry ticket.
