SZINkópé Kids' Festival returns in July
SZINkópé, the iconic summer festival of the Kövér Béla Puppet Theater will take place on July 19-21, 2024, at the Erzsébet Liget in Újszeged. The organizers are preparing a two-day family event with activities for both older and younger children.
On Friday, July 19, everyone is invited to a festival-opening street parade with giant puppets, starting at the Roosevelt Square playground at 18:00. It will be a spectacular parade with music, and participants are asked to bring bubble blowers. On the main days of the SZINkópé Festival, July 20-21, a series of puppet shows, concerts, and interactive games await festival-goers in the Újszeged Liget, between 10:00 and 19:00.
Wide range of programs
The SZINKópé Festival welcomes visitors with concerts and lots of interactive games on both days. Five daily puppet shows, the Kövér Béla Puppet Theater's own puppet concert, as well as Rutkai Bori Band and Kiskalász Band will be among the stage programs at "Tiszavirág tér".
Civil organizations and institutions of Szeged will await visitors with exciting workshops on "Sirály tér", while "Ponty tér" will be an empire for the smallest.
Environmentally conscious, picnic vibe
To promote environmental awareness, there will be no catering service at the festival. Water bottles can be refilled at the public wells at Liget, and visitors can bring their own food. The day tickets and passes enable visitors to leave and return to the venue all day. The organizers encourage everyone to come with blankets and packed snacks, as visitors can even have a picnic in front of the stage while watching the performances.
Tickets in June at a reduced price
Tickets and passes are available on the puppet theater's website, currently at discounted prices. After July 1st, only full-price tickets and passes will be available. At the festival, it will be possible to pay for the entrance tickets with cash, credit card, and OTP SZÉP card.
