Grasahu Festival holds warm-up party in May

The Grasahu Festival will take place this year as well, and the organizers are preparing for it with an all-day warm-up party on May 19, 2024, according to their press release.

During the warm-up event in May, attendees can choose from daytime programs, while the evenings will feature electronic music concerts.

Grasahu, held next to Üllés has grown from a school project into the defining small festival of the Southern Great Plain, developing and growing dynamically from year to year. Next to the Pusztaszínház building in Üllés, where the concerts have taken place until now, the organizers will also build an outdoor main stage this year, thanks to which they will double the number of musical performances. In addition, the festival will be expanded with another venue, which will provide space for theater performances, discussions, and workshops.

The 6th Grasahu Festival, taking place between August 14-18, 2024, will also feature a new service, a free Grasahu shuttle bus, with which the organizers want to make the festival more accessible for those arriving from Szeged and Budapest. The service can already be used at the May event. The Pusztaszínház in Üllés is also accessible by Volán bus routes, by car, and even by bicycle, as it is only 30 kilometers from Szeged.

At the warm-up party on May 19, the organizers want to give a taste of the summer festival atmosphere, in which the bands Hét Hat Club and Domingo from Szeged will help them, in addition to the DJ collective Gather2gether from Szeged and the Terra Kontra team from Budapest.

Tickets for the party on May 19 are already available, with family and student discounts in the various price categories – for more info, check the Facebook event.

Grasahu aims to provide the people living in the Southern Great Plain with an alternative to big festivals every summer, to give space to underground and world music formations – and to show that good things don't just happen in the Budapest area.
