Szeged Observatory relaunches English Nights with a sci-fi lecture

English Night returns to the Szeged Observatory on Monday, April 24, with a sci-fi-themed event. At the Observatory's first English language program of 2023, participants can get an insight into what is science and what is fiction.

The night starts at 7 p.m. with a 45-minute lecture dedicated to the astronomy and astronautical sci-fi masterpieces of the 21st century and their relevance in modern scientific research. In case of a clear sky, a constellation tour and observation with the large 50cm telescope will follow the lecture. If the weather conditions do not allow for observation, the astronomers will hold a virtual tour of the constellations. Those interested can also observe some meteorites under a microscope.

A free Q&A session with more stargazing is scheduled at 9:15 p.m.

This is a paid event. Tickets cost HUF 2.000 per person and can be bought online on the Observatory’s website.
