20th Verzió International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival starts tomorrow
The 20th Verzió International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival takes place in select cinemas across Hungary between November 22-29.
Verzió is a Budapest-based international film festival showcasing documentary films on human rights and social issues. As usual, Verzió showcases documentaries that deal with the most pressing international and domestic human rights issues, including topics like deep-sea mining, intersex people, or deadly rituals, among others. This year’s theme is “Where are We Headed?”.
During the festival, seven new films will be showcased in the Hungarian competition program, and more than 80 documentaries will be available for viewing in five competitive categories and seven thematic sections.
The 2023 Verzió International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival will be held in Budapest between November 22–29, in the Corvin and Toldi Cinemas. Screenings will also be held throughout Hungary — in Szeged, Szombathely, Debrecen, Kecskemét, Miskolc, and Pécs. For those who can only join the event online, the festival's online film library, Verziótheque, will be open from November 30 to December 10.
All films are screened with English subtitles.
In Szeged, Verzió Film Festival documentaries will be screened on November 22-23-24 — three films each day — at the Megálló Community Center. The entrance fee is HUF 500 per film or HUF 1000 for a day ticket. For the festival program in Szeged, visit the Facebook event link.
