Verzió film rentals to support Ukrainian documentary filmmakers
Until March 31, Verzió International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival offers six Ukrainian documentaries in its online library for rent. The total income from the rental fees, as well as royalty fees, will be allocated to support documentary filmmakers who stayed in Ukraine.
The ten-day rental period is a fundraiser for Docudays UA International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival. This year's Docudays, the 19th edition of the film festival had to be postponed until the end of the war in Ukraine. The organizers are now collecting funds to support the documentary filmmakers who stayed in the country. With the help of community fundraising, they can manage to continue their work in Kyiv and other occupied cities such as Kharkiv and Mariupol.
“In addition to fundraising, the purpose of this film selection is to foster our viewer’s understanding of contemporary Ukraine, social mobilizations of the past years, and the dynamics of the relationship between Ukraine and Russia.”
