How are the Quacquarelli Symonds specific subjects lists compiled
The QS Specific Subjects lists are compiled based on five indicators. The first two of these are based on the organization's own surveys, which examine the reputation and recognition of institutions among researchers and employers around the world.
The third indicator measures the citation index of scientific publications and the fourth measures the Hirsch index (or h-index), which evaluates citation and the number of highly reputable articles together. The fifth indicator examines the institution's international research collaborations.
QS takes the five indicators with different weightings for each field, but the indicator of international relations is used only in the evaluation of the five broad subject areas.
